Yours, Mine or Ours?
Mitch (Ryan Reynolds) and Dave (Jason Bateman) are two inseparable best friends who live completely different lives. Dave is a well put together, successful husband and father. Mitch, on the other hand, is a playboy man-child who makes an income off of pornographic commercials. The two envy each others lives and wish they could live more like the other. Following a drunken night out together, Mitch and Dave’s worlds are turned upside down when they make a wish and wake up in each other’s bodies. Mitch gets to be successful, rich and finally sleep with Dave’s trophy wife (Leslie Mann) and Jason is finally able to party and date his sexy co-worker (Olivia Wilde). The freedom is great at first, but then the two realize the other’s life is a living hell.
Tess (Jamie Lee Curtis) is the mother of fifteen year old Anna (Lindsay Lohan). She is engaged to Ryan, (Mark Hamon) who Anna and her younger brother despise. Anna has a huge crush on the older, troublesome Jake, (Chad Michael Murray) every mother’s worst nightmare. Tess wants him far away from Anna and Anna wants Ryan to disappear from the picture. The duo have nothing in common and hate everything the other does. Everything soon changes when two identical Chinese fortune cookies cause trouble. The next morning, Tess and Anna find themselves inside the other’s body. Anna has to try and avoid her soon-to-be step father’s flirting and kissing and Tess can’t get the senior boy toy to leave her alone. The two develop a new respect for the other considering the fact they are literally walking in each other’s shoes.
Nell (Samaire Armstrong) is not the typical girl next door. She is a geeky bookworm who has labeled underwear for every day of the week. Woody (Kevin Zegers) is the hormone enraged, boy next door who lives in the popularity of being the quarterback on the school’s football team and having the slutty girlfriend. During a class field trip to a history museum, the two fall under the spell of an Incan icon and when they awake the next morning, Woody’s mind is in Nell’s body, and vice versa. Nell is mortified to wake to a completely different “undercarriage” and Woody is living the dream with his own set of boobs. In the beginning the two set out to ruin the others life. Woody tries to lose Nell’s virginity and Nell breaks his “bad boy” status. Despite the fact they know more than ever wanted to about the other, the two eventually work together to figure out how to get their old lives (and parts) back.
