According to ibroken, 24 percent of users fail to insure their iPhones, 21 percent cannot afford repairs and/or replacements, 19 percent of damaged iPhones are deemed “broken but usable” and 4 percent of iPhone users attribute ‘other’ factors to them avoiding buying a new phone.
iPhone owners have spent $5.9 billion since 2007 to repair their broken iPhones, according to Square Trade, an electronics protection plan service.
Six percent of the 2,000 US citizens use tape to ‘fix’ their cracked phones, according to MSN Money.
On average, Gazelle, a company that buys back iPhones receives about 30 iPhones per minute, some working, some broken.
