Michael Havener, assistant superintendent of finance and operations and former KHS assistant principal, has been recommended to the Board of Education by Tom Williams, superintendent, as his selection for new KHS principal to replace David Holley, who announced his retirement earlier this year. If approved, Havener will assume the position July 1, 2011. Candidates were interviewed in a process including students, parents, teachers and administrators Feb. 14. Williams will make his recommendation to the board Feb. 22.
