Baccalaureate, a free and nondenominational farewell sermon delivered to KHS seniors, will be held next Friday, May 17 at First Presbyterian Church, 100 E. Adams Avenue. Mary McHugh and Kris Trokey, with Mothers Club, have been planning the event since November.
There will be passages from the Bible read by Molly Sly and Zach Keeney, seniors. Toni Saputo, senior, Andie Barnett, junior, and Morgan Weidinger, senior, will perform orchestral music and KHS A Cappella choir will sing an anthem and a benediction. Maggie Williams, senior, drew the art for the program, and Michaela Jones, senior, drew the art for the ‘save the date’ note. NHS volunteers will be serving as ushers.
“It’s a really cool event because students are heavily involved in the whole thing,” McHugh said. “It’s such a great event for students to get all dressed up and be honored. It’s a neat little ceremony.”
