Thursday, May 23, the class of 2013 came back early in the morning to KHS for the traditional senior prank pulled at the end of each year. Eighteen seniors, however, were detained on campus, who were found with glass paint markers and toilet paper, according to Mike Wade, assistant principal.
In an email Wade received from KHS Resource Officer Chad Walton, the 18 seniors did no permanent damage to the school and had their information written down and were released shortly after.
“There was no permanent vandalism, which we appreciated,” Wade said. “But there was a lot of time involved in cleaning the mess up.”
Some of the graduated class involved followed Andy Nelson, custodian, into the building and used glass paint on the windows along with throwing glitter, confetti and putting up posters in the hallway. Various teachers and classrooms came outside to help the custodial staff clean the markers up.
“Hopefully now this mess is done and we can all move on,” Wade said. “Hopefully we can focus more on school spirit now rather than individuals classes.”
