Celebrate Gold K
The annual Gold K ceremony will be held Monday, April 28 at 7 p.m. in the Keating Theater. It is awarded to KHS students who have received a minimun of 3.5 cummulative GPA over seven semesters, and this year the class of 2014 has 202 recipients. According to Mike Wade, senior class principal, Gold K is held in celebration of the students who have worked hard for all four years.
The ceremony will include speakers such as Steve Platte, teacher, who has been chosen by the 2014 Class Officers because he has meant a lot to the students, said Wade. Later, the awards will be presented and students will receive a Gold K medal, which will be worn outside of their robes during graduation, Saturday, May 17 at Chaifetz Arena. Any who wish to come to the Gold K celebration are invited, including family and friends of the recipients.
