Photo Gallery: Protesters call for Missouri Senator Josh Hawley’s resignation
ResistSTL, an organization “where individuals can come to organize around the leadup and aftermath of the 2020 election,” led a protest calling for the resignation of Missouri Senator Josh Hawley Saturday, Jan. 9 on the steps and the surrounding area of the Old Courthouse. The calls for Hawley’s resignation come in light of the storming of the Capitol building on Jan. 6 and his formal objection to Pennsylvania’s slate of electors that took place the same day. Protesters yelled chants like “No Hawley, no KKK, no fascist USA,” and “Goodbye Hawley, you don’t even live here,” as a few snow flurries fell in the below-freezing air.
