17-year-old shot in Kirkwood’s Meacham Park neighborhood
A 17-year-old male was shot last night, Thursday, June 24, in the Meacham Park neighborhood of Kirkwood, Missouri. Police responded to a 9-1-1 call at approximately 11:18 p.m that reported shots fired in the 300 block of Meacham Street. Upon arrival, officers “immediately began providing life-saving aid,” according to a Kirkwood Police Department news release issued Friday morning. Officers applied a tourniquet, a device used to apply pressure to help stop blood flow through a vein or artery. The subject was transported by the Kirkwood Fire Department to an area hospital. According to The Kirkwood Police Department, the subject is listed in stable condition.
As of Friday afternoon, there have been no arrests. The Kirkwood Police Department’s investigation is ongoing.
