Check out Modern Wisdom in Musical Poems, Saturday Oct. 25
Modern Wisdom in Musical Poems, a free show at the Kirkwood Park Amphitheater, will occur at 5:30 p.m. Oct. 25. The show will feature actors, writers and local musicians, such as Ben Vennard, senior, and Helen Hendry, pianist.
Performances are inspired by the Grateful Dead (Auset Music Project), Serge Koussevitzky (Vennard and Hendry) and the Beatles. Tom Gaither-Ganim, educational support counselor, will play three songs of his own composition.
The show will be presented in support of Angels’ Arms, who provide and support loving homes for foster children with an emphasis of keeping siblings together. The group is currently working on their eleventh home.
“It’s a lot of philosophy about the conflict between greed and love,” Vennard said. “It’s through music, poems and drama.”
Your donation will support the student journalists of Kirkwood High School. Your contribution will allow us to purchase equipment and cover our annual website hosting costs.
