KHS Weekly Update 11/19/21: Turkey week, course selection, final exams

The KSD department chairs met to for discussions and announcements Wednesday night.

Retirees: Larry Anderson, Thom Champion, David Drury, Bill Gunn, Sean McCarthy, Molly Stephenson, Jeff Townsend and Romona Miller have announced their retirement for the end of this school year. 

 

Turkey week: Hallways will be decorated next Monday after school. Lockers will not be accessible after 3 p.m. on Monday. Visitors will be allowed in the building on Tuesday to view decorations and are required to wear a mask. 

 

Final Exams: Final exams will be held the week of Dec. 13-17. All teachers are required to hold some type of exam or final assessment during their scheduled two hour exam period. The final exam schedule will be as follows:

Wednesday, Dec. 15: All classes meet during regular times 

Thursday, Dec. 16: Full length school day, 2nd hour exam, shortened periods for all other classes.

Friday, Dec. 17: Half school day, 4th and 6th hour exams.

Monday, Dec. 20: Half school day, 3rd and 7th hour exams.

Tuesday, Dec. 21: Half school day, 1st and 5th hour exams. 

 

Course selection: KHS guidance department will give a course selection presentation after students return from Thanksgiving break. Students will leave their science classes and go to Keating Theater to watch the presentation and select their courses for the 2022-2023 school year. Juniors will attend on Monday, Nov. 29, sophomores will attend Tuesday, Nov. 30 and freshmen will attend Friday, Dec. 3. 

 

Theater: The winter Blackbox Show will be performed on Dec. 2-4 in the Blackbox Theater. The Teacher Feature will be performed on Wednesday, Dec. 1 at 3:30 p.m. in the Blackbox Theater.
