Kirkwood High School varies in many way from the 50’s until present day. Student life, facilities, classrooms, and culture changed drastically. As years progress, schools does too. Kirkwood High School has a long history dating back to the foundation of the Kirkwood School District in 1865. In 1993, the Keating theater was opened, in 2007, the science center was built. 2008 presented the new David Holley Gym, in 2010, the football field and track were renovated, in 2014, the highly respected journalism workspace was redesigned and lastly, in 2015 the Walker Natatorium was built. “The changes that I’ve seen first hand throughout my many years at Kirkwood have been remarkable. Everything is always improving to ensure the best experience for students, parents, teachers, and administrators. Anyone would be proud to go to a place like this.” Mrs. Romona Miller.
