The Kirkwood girls’ JV basketball team played a close game against Marquette with a final score of 46-49 Jan. 10. “I was really proud of the way those girls fought, especially in the fourth quarter,” Jason Evans, girls’ JV basketball coach, said. “They were facing a team that was really well-skilled, well-coached, and pretty much taller in every position. I thought that they fought the entire game and then at the end of the game to be close and to compete the way that they did, I couldn’t have been prouder of them and that’s a testament to them and how competitive they are.”
