Photo gallery: varsity girls’ field hockey vs St. Joseph’s Academy
The varsity girls field hockey team played St. Joseph’s Academy on Wednesday, Sept. 5. The girls resided victorious in a 2-1 score. This was the first time Kirkwood has beat St. Joseph’s Academy since 1999, “Yeah, we were definitely afraid to play them,” Taylor Losse, sophomore, said. When asked how the team felt about winning Losse replied “Good, because we haven’t beat St.Joe in awhile so it felt really good to beat them.”

Mark Borella is a 1984 Kirkwood alum who owns and operates the Seeds of Happiness studio.
"A friend of mine's son was sick, and we knew he wasn't going to make it. I made a handful of these little smiles, [and gave it to the family.] I said maybe you can hold on to [them] until you get your smile back. [The family] said 'it would be very selfish if I didn't tell you to do this for other people.'"
