The Kirkwood varsity boys’ basketball team played against Ladue Jan. 8. Kirkwood had the lead through the first half of the game, but Ladue clipped Kirkwood in the end to win with a score of 64-61. “We need to learn how to play with a lead,” Jonah McDowell, senior, said. “The third quarter has been our downfall.”

Mark Borella is a 1984 Kirkwood alum who owns and operates the Seeds of Happiness studio.
"A friend of mine's son was sick, and we knew he wasn't going to make it. I made a handful of these little smiles, [and gave it to the family.] I said maybe you can hold on to [them] until you get your smile back. [The family] said 'it would be very selfish if I didn't tell you to do this for other people.'"
