The varsity girls soccer team played Francis Howell Central on Fri. April 12. The pioneers won the game 1-0 in penalty kicks. “I thought we played really well,” Alex Chapman, junior, said. “We like to keep the intensity high in all of our games and put a lot of pressure. I was really excited [when we went into overtime], Francis Howell is number eight in the rankings and we are not in the top ten, so that was a really big win for us.”

Mark Borella is a 1984 Kirkwood alum who owns and operates the Seeds of Happiness studio.
"A friend of mine's son was sick, and we knew he wasn't going to make it. I made a handful of these little smiles, [and gave it to the family.] I said maybe you can hold on to [them] until you get your smile back. [The family] said 'it would be very selfish if I didn't tell you to do this for other people.'"
