Photo Gallery: Kirkwood JV 3 girls’ racquetball tournament
The Kirkwood girls’ JV 3 racquetball team played in a tournament Saturday, Feb. 8 against players from Lindbergh High School, Cor Jesu Academy, Visitation Academy and Nerinx Hall.
“My favorite thing about racquetball is that the coaches are really supportive,” Kate Bergman, sophomore, said. “Even if you mess up and lose 0-11, they always have [something] positive to tell you. They’re all really good at racquetball too, so you know that you can trust their advice no matter what.”

Mark Borella is a 1984 Kirkwood alum who owns and operates the Seeds of Happiness studio.
"A friend of mine's son was sick, and we knew he wasn't going to make it. I made a handful of these little smiles, [and gave it to the family.] I said maybe you can hold on to [them] until you get your smile back. [The family] said 'it would be very selfish if I didn't tell you to do this for other people.'"
