Photo Gallery: Long exposure in downtown St. Louis
In downtown St. Louis, night lights are everywhere. One photo technique used to capture these lights is a long exposure. Long exposure photos are taken to blur the moving parts of an image. The shutter speed, or the amount of time the camera’s shutter is open, is longer during a long exposure picture. This allows more light to pass through the camera, while additionally allowing for moving objects to be blurred. Below are some pictures of this method used to photograph different locations in the city.
