Photo Gallery: Little Free Libraries
Scattered throughout the Kirkwood and Webster communities stand Little Free Libraries where people can “take a book and return a book.” Little Free Libraries is a nonprofit organization whose goal is to “build communities and inspire readers.” Anyone can have a little library in their front yard, and there is a wide variety of genres for all ages. They strive to allow access for everyone, and Maeve Heaney, junior, has acknowledged that.
“I think the Little Free Libraries are a great way of allowing communities, families, and people who may not have the resources or money an opportunity to get books,” Heaney said. “It is fortunate for many that we have numerous located all around St. Louis. I have one located in my neighborhood, and it connects a lot of my neighbors. I have noticed it reaches a wide variety of ages: children, teenagers, and adults.”
