Kirkwood football played against the Webster Statesmen for the annual Turkey Day game Nov. 26, 2021. With a score of 65-0, Kirkwood took the win from Webster this year. Every year, with a few exceptions, Kirkwood has played Webster on Thanksgiving day as a tradition in the community since 1907. Kirkwood has won the last 8 years in a row, and they plan to continue the winning streak. Another thing they plan to continue is the traditions, and with that, each football player has a different tradition they look forward to on this day every year.
“Eating breakfast before the game with the team,” Sam Linenbroker, senior football player, said. “Especially this year because it was the last time we’d all eat and play together.”
