Photo gallery: Valentine’s Day at Kirkwood Farmers Market
This season, the Kirkwood Farmers Market stayed open a little longer than usual, not closing on December 24th, as they typically do. For the first time, they were open for Valentine’s Day, and to let customers know, they made signs wrapped in pink and red roses advertising their selection of sweet treats like chocolate and pies, flowers and other gifts. Customers strolled in, placed orders for chocolate-covered strawberries and bought bouquets of roses for their significant others to celebrate Valentine’s Day. Beverly Sigg, a Kirkwood resident and customer, visited the Farmers Market over the weekend.
“I think it’s great that the Farmers Market stayed open for Valentine’s day. I bought my husband roses and a chocolate pie, which we are very excited to eat,” Sigg said. “After 52 years of marriage, we don’t like to do anything big, so celebrating with a pie and flowers is perfect for us. Valentine’s Day is one of my favorite holidays.”
