On Thursday, Nov. 24, the KHS football team played in the annual Turkey Day Game against the Webster Grove Statesman. With a score of 55-7, Kirkwood took the win from Webster. The KHS Pioneers brought home the Frisco Bell for the ninth year in a row. Every year each the team picks one player for the Ray Moss Award. This award is given to someone that demonstrates superior sportsmanship throughout the whole season. This year, Gabe Walker, senior, was awarded the Ray Moss Award.
“It was a really special moment, it was nice to be recognize for the game like that in front of the whole community,” Walker said. “It is obviously sad [and] it is a lot to process that [I am not] going to play football but if it is going to end anyway, this is a good way to go out.”
