Photo gallery: summer in the south
During the month of July, hundreds of AAU basketball players get the privilege to travel across the country to do what they love. Along the way, players and their families get to take advantage of all the wonderful sites. One of the destinations is Texas. Some may not realize the beautiful and different attractions and sites in places like Frisco and San Antonio. These pictures are a sneak peek into what is in store when visiting the Lone Star State.

Mark Borella is a 1984 Kirkwood alum who owns and operates the Seeds of Happiness studio.
"A friend of mine's son was sick, and we knew he wasn't going to make it. I made a handful of these little smiles, [and gave it to the family.] I said maybe you can hold on to [them] until you get your smile back. [The family] said 'it would be very selfish if I didn't tell you to do this for other people.'"
