Two dogs from the K-9 Unit, Roscoe and Oscar, came to Kirkwood High School to search for illegal drugs on Feb. 16. The random search conducted by the Kirkwood Police Department took place during homeroom and lasted 20 minutes. "They checked lockers and backpacks and coats that were put in the hallway," Dr. Michael Havener, principal, said. "They were able to move around different portions of the campus. It's a random selection of the campus. We don't do the same spot every time, but we do certain areas and they did a wonderful job covering the campus in a reasonable amount of time and in an appropriate way."
