Julia Wunning-Zimmer, senior, speaks to a crowd on March 8, 2017. The bipartisan event, planned by Wunning-Zimmer, celebrated International Women’s Day in front of Kirkwood City Hall. Everyone was welcome, despite gender, race, sexuality, religion, political party, abilities, ethnicity, or immigration status. “Trump and other world leaders are fiery with a passion for hatred, discrimination and fear,” Wunning-Zimmer said. “We must stand up, speak out and rise above these horrific sentiments being passed around our nation and the world as a whole.”
