Photo gallery: girls’ JV golf at the Webster Groves Invitational
Girl’s junior varsity golf team competes in the Webster Groves Invitational at Sunset Hills golf course on Friday, Aug. 31. The groups were Zoe Browning and Ally Wallingsford, Abby Maull and Sara Simkins, and Macie Mcpheeters and Meg Bjorkman. Then individual teams shot 111, 117, and 127 for a total team score of 355.
“I felt like I could have done better, but I’m always working on getting better,” Sara Simkins, freshman, said afterward.

Mark Borella is a 1984 Kirkwood alum who owns and operates the Seeds of Happiness studio.
"A friend of mine's son was sick, and we knew he wasn't going to make it. I made a handful of these little smiles, [and gave it to the family.] I said maybe you can hold on to [them] until you get your smile back. [The family] said 'it would be very selfish if I didn't tell you to do this for other people.'"
