Police Beat: 9/14-9/20
On Monday, September 14, 2015, officers were dispatched to the 1000 block of North Taylor for a destruction of property report. A window on a parked vehicle was shattered.
On Tuesday, September 15, 2015, a resident from the 500 block of Clemens called police to report a residential burglary. A window on a rear door had been broken to enter the home and miscellaneous bathroom items had been removed from the residence.
On Wednesday, September 16, 2015, police handled a destruction of property report that occurred in the 800 block of South Fillmore. The front window to a parked vehicle was broken out with a rock.
On Wednesday, September 16, 2015, police responded to the 900 block of Simmons for a larceny from a residence. A wicker chair had been removed and stolen from the front porch of the residence.
On Wednesday, September 16, 2015, police were dispatched to the 700 block of South Kirkwood Road for a destruction of property report. The two front windows to a vehicle were broken out and dents were made in the body of the same vehicle. The damage was caused by a rock.
On Thursday, September 17, 2015, police responded to the 400 block of South Taylor and the 900 block of South Fillmore for property damage to vehicles. The windows to two different vehicles had been broken out.
On Thursday, September 17, 2015, officers were summoned to the 800 block of Cleveland for a theft report. An outdoor table was removed and stolen from the front porch.
On Thursday, September 17, 2015, officers were dispatched to a motor vehicle crash in the 500 block of West Adams. A vehicle had struck a parked vehicle. It was determined the driver of the striking vehicle was intoxicated. The driver was arrested for driving while intoxicated, operating a vehicle with a suspended driver’s license, and failure to provide of current vehicle insurance. The case was referred to Municipal Court.
On Friday, September 18, 2015, police were summoned to a business in the 900 block of South Kirkwood Road for a report of theft. A wallet was left unattended in an office at the business and was stolen sometime during the day.
On Friday, September 18, 2015, police were dispatched to the intersection of Dougherty Ferry and Lockett for an exposing person. The suspect, who was riding a bicycle, exposed himself as he rode past the victim. He was located and arrested a short distance away. He was cited for lewd and indecent acts. The case was referred to Municipal Court. The Kirkwood investigation also led to several crimes being solved in neighboring Des Peres. The suspect was held pending transfer to Des Peres Police.
Kirkwood Police arrested four adults for shoplifting merchandise from Kirkwood businesses located in the 1000 and 1200 blocks of South Kirkwood Road during the week of 9-14-2015, through Sunday, 9-20-2015. One of the cases qualified as felony stealing and was referred to the St Louis County Prosecutor’s Office for review. The other cases were referred to Municipal Court. One of the adults was also charged with felony possession of marijuana; that case was also referred to the St Louis County Prosecutor’s Office for review.
