Police Beat: 9/21-9/27
On Monday, September 21, 2015, police responded to the 100 block of West Monroe for a report of destruction of property. A window pane had been broken on the basement window of the building.
On Monday, September 21, 2015, a resident residing in the 600 block of South Kirkwood reported identity theft to police. The victim’s information was used to open three unauthorized bank accounts in Florida.
On Monday, September 21, 2015, police were dispatched to the 200 block of Woodridge for a theft from a vehicle. A radar detector and iPod were stolen from an unlocked vehicle.
On Tuesday, September 22, 2015, police recovered a bicycle left in the 400 block of North Geyer. The bicycle was brought to the station awaiting the owner.
On Tuesday, September 22, 2015, officers were dispatched to the 800 block of Craig Forest for a larceny from a vehicle. Change was stolen from an unlocked vehicle while parked in an open garage.
On Tuesday, September 22, 2015, police were summoned to the 700 block of Cleveland for a larceny. Two steel pumpkin lawn ornaments were removed from the front yard.
On Tuesday, September 22, 2015, police responded to the 400 block of South Kirkwood Road for a larceny of a cell phone. The phone was left in a restroom and when the victim returned, the phone was missing.
On Thursday, September 24, 2015, police were notified of a two separate thefts in the 10100 block of Manchester. Two sets of wheels and tires were removed from two separate vehicles parked behind the building.
On Thursday, September 24, 2015, police responded to the 200 block of East Washington for a stealing by deceit report. The victim received a telephone call from a subject claiming to be a relative that was in jail out of state and requested monies be transferred for bond money. The victim transferred the money and later it was determined the relative was not in jail and did not request the money. Detectives are investigating.
On Thursday, September 24, 2015, officers were dispatched to the 500 block of Dickson for a motor vehicle accident. One vehicle left the roadway and struck a utility pole. The driver was not injured; however, the driver was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated. The case was referred to Municipal Court.
On Friday, September 25, 2015, police responded to the 11300 block of Manchester for a larceny report. A push mower and router used for woodworking were stolen from unlocked shed in the backyard.
On Saturday, September 26, 2015, a resident in the 600 block of North Geyer reported a theft to police. An envelope containing theater tickets were reported stolen from the residence.
Kirkwood Police arrested two adults for shoplifting merchandise from a Kirkwood area business located in the 1200 block of South Kirkwood Road during the week of Monday, 9-21-2015, through Sunday, 9-127-2015. Both cases were referred to Municipal Court.
