Police Beat: 9/28-10/4

On Monday, September 28, 2015, police were dispatched to the 300 block of South Sappington in Oakland for a destruction of property report. A vehicle had driven onto the soccer field of a local school causing damage.

 

On Monday, September 28, 2015, police handled an identity theft report from a resident in the 400 block of Meacham. An out of state purchase was placed on the victim’s credit card account. The victim still had possession of the credit card.

 

On Monday, September 28, 2015, police recovered a bicycle in the area of Minturn and Westwood Place in Oakland. The bicycle was brought to the station where it was returned to the owner the next day.

 

On Tuesday, September 29, 2015, police responded to the 100 block of South Taylor for a destruction of property report. A banner displayed on a wall had been spray-painted with graffiti. A portion of the wall was also spray-painted.

 

On Wednesday, September 30, 2015, a resident from the 300 block of West Argonne called police to report a destruction of property to a vehicle. A van parked on the street had the driver’s side windows broken and shattered. There was nothing found to be missing from inside the van.

 

On Wednesday, September 30, 2015, police were contacted by a resident of Des Peres, MO, in regards to a lost wallet. The victim reported shopping at a retail store in the 1000 block of South Kirkwood Road and left her wallet at the service counter prior to shopping. She arrived home and realized the wallet had been left at the store. She checked the credit card accounts that had cards in the wallet and discovered over $1200 in fraudulent purchases at the same retail store. Detectives are investigating.

 

On Thursday, October 1, 2015, officers responded to a larceny in the 100 block of West Argonne. A painting on display was removed and stolen from a public building.
