Police Beat: 11/9-11/16
On Monday, November 9, 2015, police were notified of an erratic driver in the 1000 block of South Kirkwood. Officers responded and located the driver on the parking lot of a local business. Investigation led to the arrest of the driver for driving while intoxicated. The driver was arrested and the case was referred to Municipal Court.
On Monday, November 9, 2015, officers were dispatched to the 500 block of Mistletoe for a report of a larceny from a vehicle. The resident reported a purse containing credit cards and wallet was stolen from a car parked inside a garage at the residence. The theft occurred sometime during the previous night.
On Monday, November 9, 2015, police responded to the 1400 block of Cragwold for a destruction of property to a vehicle. There was damage caused by a single key mark that extended from the front driver’s door to rear door.
On Tuesday, November 10, 2015, a larceny was reported in the 300 block of Rose Lane. A wallet and change were stolen from an unlocked vehicle.
On Tuesday, November 10, 2015, police were dispatched to the 900 block of Ohlman for a residential burglary. Someone had broken into the side door of the residence and stole a handgun, ammunition, and a cell phone.
On Thursday, November 12, 2015, officers responded to the area of Geyer Forest and Geyer to assist Sunset Hills Police concerning a motor vehicle accident that occurred in their venue. Officers located the vehicle involved and discovered the driver of the vehicle was in possession of marijuana. The driver was arrested and the case was referred to Municipal Court.
On Friday, November 13, 2015, a resident from the 600 block of East Madison reported a theft to police. A bank deposit bag containing cash was stolen from an unlocked vehicle.
On Saturday, November 14, 2015, officers handled a larceny from a vehicle report in the 1200 block of Lindgate. The victim reported a shotgun and hunting gear stolen from a locked vehicle sometime in the last couple of days.
On Saturday, November 14, 2015, a wallet was reported stolen in the 300 block of South Kirkwood. The victim reported leaving a wallet unattended on a table at a local business.
Kirkwood Police arrested one adult for shoplifting merchandise from a Kirkwood business located in the 10400 block of Manchester Road during the week of Monday, 11-09-2015, through Sunday, 11-15-2015. The suspect was charged with felony stealing –third offense due to the suspect having at least two previous theft-related convictions. The suspect also had an active warrant for a probation violation for a previous burglary charge. The Kirkwood case was referred to the St Louis County Prosecutor’s Office for review. The suspect was jailed on the probation violation.
