Police Beat 10/7-10/13
On Monday, Oct. 7 , a retail department store in the 1200 block of South Kirkwood Road reported the theft of items from an outside storage container. The theft occurred on September 29th . Detectives are investigating.
On Saturday, Oct. 12 , at approximately 5:10 p.m., an officer was dispatched to the 11700 block of Cragwold Road for a report of a property damage and larceny from a vehicle. The victim stated, upon returning to her vehicle, she discovered the rear passenger window of her vehicle shattered and her purse stolen. The theft occurred between 3:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m.
On Sunday, Oct. 13 , at approximately 1:12 p.m., a resident in the 400 block of Dickens Avenue reported a theft from his parked, unlocked vehicle. The victim stated, at approximately 12:00 p.m., he discovered his vehicle and been rifled through and his Ruger 9mm pistol had been stolen. The theft occurred between Thursday afternoon and the time of the report.
During the week of Oct. 7 through Oct. 13th , along with regular calls for service and traffic enforcement, the Kirkwood Police Department responded to 23 residential / business alarms, 42 motor vehicle accidents and assisted the Fire / EMS Department on 69 calls.
