What’s new at KHS

Students and faculty received new laptops for this school year.

Construction: Construction projects are underway at KHS. The first project scheduled to be done is a new main office, located off the Dougherty Ferry lot. The project is estimated to be completed by the end of the 2022-2023 school year. Also, an L-shaped addition to the science building will consist of about 10 classrooms, according to Dr. Havener. Most of these classrooms will be family consumer science and engineering, as well as a few extra rooms for other core classes.

Attendance policy: The attendance policy, last implemented in the 2019-2020 school year, will return when KHS students start school in August. If a student reaches five unexcused absences or 10 excused absences in a class, they will lose the credit and fail the class. For more details about the new attendance policy, check out Ian Reno’s story “Attendance policy change at KHS next year.”
