Jim Duniven, a long-time soccer official, collapsed and died Oct. 4 at a KHS varsity boys’ soccer game at Lindbergh High School. According to a stltoday.com article, Duniven had just issued a yellow card when he collapsed near the penalty area. Chris Steinmetz, varsity coach, assisted in giving CPR on the field. Players from both teams formed a circle in the middle of the field, linked arms and knelt on the ground in prayer, Steinmetz said. Duniven was officially pronounced dead after being taken to the hospital.
