Celebrate the third annual Cam Jam concert

Kirkwood’s third annual Cam Jam concert will take place Friday, May 30 from 6:30-10 p.m. The concert will be held at Kirkwood Station Plaza (141 E Madison Ave.) and is free and open to all.

Scheduled performers include: The Ty Perry Project, Ben Vennard, Tom Gaither-Ganim, Pure Curiosity and special guests, The Auset Music Project.

Cam Jam is a benefit concert hosted by friends of Cam Vennard to raise money for the Cam Vennard Music and Vocal Scholarship Fund, as well to honor the life of Cam. Cam, former North Glendale and Nipher Middle School student, died tragically in a train accident in May 2012. Because Cam was known for his love of music, money raised at the concert will continue to fund the scholarship at Nipher Middle School used to help students with financial needs take music lessons. Donations will be accepted.

“Even though Cam is gone, the things he stood for manifest themselves in this festival every year,” Ben Vennard, Cam’s brother, said. “Cam Jam symbolizes the power of love and music and community; it represents something greater than the actual music festival itself. That’s why I love Cam Jam at least.”
