Katie Meyers, English teacher, remembers the energy and enthusiasm the whole community had for Turkey Day when she attended KHS.
“To me it was amazing that families would put their Thanksgiving dinners on hold for this game,” Meyers, 1988 KHS graduate, said. “We’re talking about 95-year-old grandmothers visiting and wearing all red. Everyone would be hoping that the Pioneers would win and get the Frisco Bell.”
While she recalls attending the Turkey Day game each year while at KHS, Meyers said participating in the hallway decorations is her favorite memory.
“It was just a fun night,” Meyers said. “You had miles of construction paper and tape. It was amazing that people would bring cars into the school just to be the best hall.”
